Welcome to our very first blog post! We’re Sarah and Karen, sisters, founders, and the hands and hearts behind Sempero Flowers. We started this business with a simple shared goal: to make life a little brighter, more beautiful, and easier for families like ours.
Our Story: From Inspiration to Creation
The idea for our artificial flower arrangement business took root on a memorable day at a London fair. Both of us were at a crossroads in our careers: I recently left my senior role in leisure and hospitality operations, while Sarah was considering leaving her position in partnerships for a national charity. Sometimes, when you’re busy with work and life, it’s easy to lose sight of the small things that lift your day.
That day together reminded us how much joy comes from spending time with loved ones and from being surrounded by beauty. Sarah went home with a stunning artificial flower arrangement, while we both reminisced about the beloved (and surprisingly long-lasting) artificial flowering plant in our mother’s kitchen. But after a few weeks, Sarah’s new arrangement began to lose its realistic charm. Some flowers still looked lovely, while others looked, well, a little too artificial.
We realised there was a gap: Why settle for arrangements we wouldn’t want in our own homes? That’s when we decided to create something better. We set out to build a business where quality and authenticity come first: where every stem is handpicked, every arrangement crafted with care, and nothing leaves our hands unless we truly love it ourselves.
Our Mission: Beauty Without Hassle or Allergies
We grew up in a hay fever household: our parents, ourselves, and now even our children and partners all know the struggle of allergies. As much as we adore fresh flowers, they often have to make an early exit from our homes to spare us the sneezing, itchy eyes, and asthma. We wanted to offer an alternative: beautiful arrangements that don’t compromise on style or well-being.
Our mission is to help families add a beautiful finishing touch to their homes, without the hassle or allergies. Each of our arrangements is chosen, arranged, and packed by us, with love and attention to detail. We’ve travelled up and down the country to find the very best stems, attended floristry courses to perfect our craft, and tested every bloom to ensure it stands the test of time.
